A day before the D-Day

When I woke up this morning, I just didn't wanted to go to work, but unfortunately had to ;(
Arrived to the office right on time and started finishing my translation, and there was a lot to do, plus some more Eu experts arrived and I had to move to another table and sit huddled in one table with my colleague. Even sitting like this, I managed to translate my items, however there were additional things to do. We had to hang banners and post the president's quotes from his recent speech. Also we had to put all the handout materials into special bags and put them in order. All of this took us many hours. Anyway, we worked until late 12oo at night, we were all tired and sleepy. The gunny thing was that Husan was calling us in such a crucial time and inviting to a disco, but we refused, since we had a lot to do. The most pleasant thing was that my boss, for the first time in many months of so-called confrontation, said that I did a great translation, man I was soooo happy ;))
After finishing with all our things, we went home. There was some more to do tomorrow, because we were about to hold an international conference, a fist one from the beginning of the project!!!

Preparation for the international conference

Well, today was a real hot day, before another hot one, tomorrow will be hotter, I do feel this ;))
Anyway, we had to translate a lot, there were many translations of speeches to do, plus other things like: collecting books brought by the UNDP from downstairs and bringing them to the office, and other similar things. I wasn't even thinking that I will stay that late in the office, but I had to work until 10 o'clock in the evening, and by that time I was tired like a dog.
We were tired and also we were very hungry, so we decided to order a pizza, the funny thing was the address we told them: Uzbek Parliament. The police guards of Parliament were very surprised to see someone ordering pizza in Parliament, anyway we had our pizza and after a while we all were en route to our casa :)) I took a taxi and apparently lost my watches there, becuase I couldn't find my watches at home. Back at home, I tried to test a new printer machine bought by my dad, and something was out of order. Even after reinstallment of the software, when I tried to print, the PC would just switch itslef off, as well as the printer. Anyway, I couldn't find the problem and decided to go and sleep...

It's snowing :(((

It was pretty cold yesterday, but I wasn't expecting that it will snow today. But, when I woke up early in the morning, i saw that it was snowing really hard. It was crazy, since just some few days ago the weather was really perfect and here we are with some darn snow :((
Anyway, there was a lot to do today, we had to go to the car market with my uncle, Tolqin, and buy a new car, Matiz!!! (see pciture below)

Note: this car is produced in Uzbekistan by the UzDaewoo Motors car company!!!

We were planning to buy this car under my name and then transfer it under the ownership of his new taxi service company: "Trans-Modul". It was pretty cold in the car market, we walked around trying to find the best car and bought one, which was really nice. We succeeded in buying it and then we had to go through some legal procedures. First, we went to the notary and then we had to take the car to my uncle's car parking. I was very tired and plus it was darn cold, even with my coat on I was feeling really cold. I came home and continued my every day things, that is worked on my new forum and website.
That's it for today's cooold ramblings :))

My First Training

Today is the day of our first porject training, in which I have to translate. I am little bit worried and scared to some extent of what is expecting me today, because this is my first "big meeting" translation. Anyway, there was a lot to do, to prepare and translate on the PC. But, I prepared myself for both, the worst and the best ;))
So, the time came for me and three experts, one EU and two local experts, to go down to the training hall. Slowly, people gathered and we commenced our training. Well, the first part was pretty easy, all I did is just translated the main points of our local experts' presentations to the European expert. But, then the second part started and this was the hardest part, why, because apart from reading from slides I translated he had to answer some additional questions. And this was the hardest part, because I am not lawyer and when there are some professional terms, I am lost, thanx to Dilshod, I could translate.
Anyway, the training was over and I was pretty tired, and guess what happened, my boss told me to translate some additional texts until tomorrow morning, I told him that I am tired and so on. But, he seemed to not care, he might be thinking that translating is just as easy as reading, although even reading requires some thinking ;) I was pretty mad at him, but I couldn't do nothing, he's my boss and we're his "slaves" :((
Well, after work we received an invitation to go to some restaurant with our EU exerts, so we accepted it. We all went in groups, separately, I was first to arrive to the Ocean restaurant, a table was ordered for us, and I just sat waiting for guys. But, when I called Dilshod, he told me that they're at another restaurant Anubis, I said what the f***, but had to leave this warm place and go there. However, as soon as we learned about the prices in this place, I told them to go back to the Ocean and so we did. Well, we had a pretty nice evening there, it was a real fun, smoking cigaras ;) drinking some branded vodka and eating some delicious food. I enjoyed my time in this restaurant, but when it became late we had to leave home...
This is it for today's crazy ramblings!!!

Party with continuation...

We planned to have a party on 18 March, so the day came and we all prepared for the party. However, they day was only starting and there was a lot of translation to do. I heard from Husan that he might be soon kicked out from the project, he also mentioned that I might be next. Well, I guess hard times are coming for me now. After hearing all of this, I wasn't in a very good mood whole day, even the project party wasn't that interesting for me. Of course, the Ocean restaurant was a really cozy and nice place to sit, however, I was in some bad mood. Anyway, the party was over in the miidle of the night and everyone wished good night to each other and went home. I wanted to go with Muzik and Lazizka, but our boss wanted to join us, so we had to go with him. However, in the middle of our road, Husan called me and proposed to go to the SHAMBALA disco, and we agreed, but we had to get rid of our boss. So, when we left him near his house, we decided to go to the disco. We also called Laziza and she came back from her home to the disco. We had a real fun there and sat there until 3 in the morning of 19th. I came home and went to sleep.

Early in the morning I had to see of my mom and sister to Samarkand, I also wanted to go with them, but our boss told us to come today. So, at 12oo I arrived to the office, I hardly could pass the road, since some roads were blocked, because the day after tomorrow we will celebrate Navruz and there's a possibility of terror acts. Anyway, when I arrived I saw that there was only Nodira in the office, then after some time everyince except the very boss arrived. Darn him, because of him, I had to cancel my trip to Samarkand and he didn't even came to work. Well, we spent some three hours in the office and decided to leave, and guess what on our way out of the building we met this jerk. All we did is just said good-bye and continued on our way...
Well, this is it for today folx..

I have to get married, otherwise...

I woke up quite early and went with my mom to a medical center, in order to undergo a medical examination, since I was having some problems with my health for some three months already. We arrived a bit early and had to wait for some 30 minutes for the doctor to come. Anyway, a doctor who examined me told me quite an unpleasant news about the state of my health. The problem he said is related to my sexual life, if to be correct to a lack of a sexual life. That is, as he explained, the problem was because after my divorce - two years have passed since then - I had no sexual intercourse and now I am facing a serious problem, which might be quite dangerous for my health if I am not to marry or start meeting someone. Well, the funny thing is that I was already pinning my hopes on Kamola, whom I wanted to marry this year and whom I like a lot, however, I don't know anything about her and I want to get to know her better. Anyway, after the doctor's words I told my mother that we have to 'accelerate' - as my Greek boss loves to repeat - our preparation for the wedding. Of course, this was quite a shock for me to find out this. Anyway, I have to hurry up, otherwise I may have serious problems with my health and my life!!! As I am writing these lines, I feel quite sick, because I didn't wanted to have this kind of problem, but what can I do now... I really hope, that I'll get well soon and will have a happy marriage *sigh

Fraction or Faction

An interesting story happened with me today. I was doing my usual everyday translation, when my boss called and scolded me for making mistakings in translation. He said that I should have written "party fraction" instead of "party faction". Well, he was totally wrong and I decided to prove this to him. I said that I can prove him and showed him a dictionary and meanings of both words. By the way, our Greek Team Leader was also sitting there and saying that I made a mistake. But, when I showed this and proved them both wring, they both became very silent and even said to each other that I was right!!!

At last I finished this book...

Yeah... I made it... At last I finished a book I was reading for almost two years. Why it took me so long, you may ask me?! Well, I've been and am quite busy these days, I have to translate a lot, work on my, my dad's and my friend's websites, that's why it took me so long. And, do believe me, this is the first time in my life that I read one book for almost 2 years. The book is called - The Secret Life of Laszlo Count Dracula, by Roderick Anscombe:

In this reinterpretation of the Dracula story, the Count is a victim of his times, whose bloodlust is a result of mental illness rather than the supernatural. I recommend this book to everyone who loves reading fiction, there is nothing mysterious in this book, but I think even those who love reading horror novels would love this book, as i did.
I finished reading it tonight... and immediately started reading another book, I wanted to read for a long time. This book is called - At Swim Two Birds, by Flann O'Brien:

I really hope to finish this one in one or two months, but not two years, however, time'll tell ;)

Bird in a cage

Every morning as I go to my work I pass my neighbour's window with a bird in a cage. The poor bird tries its best to escape her prison, even though it's clear that it's impossible.
Bird in a cage
And every time I pass, I can see that this bird is still trying to escape this cage. And frankly, I admire this stoicism, if you may call it so, I really wish I could set her free, because when I imagine myself in her place, I think I'd go crazy. Because, you stay in one place, the cage is too small for you and you want to be free, just like other birds. Well, I really hope that she soon will be freed, otherwise I am sure she want last too long...

Women's Day

What a wonderful day is 8 March, Women's Day - an event celebrated in many countries of the world, including Uzbekistan.
Early in the morning, me, my mom and sister, we went to pick some herbs in Basmachka hills, in order to prepare some manti with herbs. We also invited our relatives and made some preparations for this day.
Later, in the morning, me and my sis, we went to market to get some flowers and some vegetables for today's party. When we came back fronm the market, we noticed that my aunt and uncle, have already arrived and the preparation was in full swing :))
Some hours later, my other uncle, Erkin, arrived with his family and then we had a real fun, we prepared manti and had a really nice gathering. We were just sitting and talking and my dad suddenly started talking about his friend's daughter, Kamola, whom I like a lot and whom my father and mother want to see as my wife. Well, frankly i also would like her to be my wife, but firstly i want her to like me and love me, and then marry me. Anyway, this is quite a delicate issue.
Later, this day, when all my relatives laft home, Raxshona's husband and his mother visited us, and we sat talking for a while. And, finally, when everyone has left, I continued my work on my dad's and my friend, Gulom's. website. Well, this is it for today's ramblings...

Injustice is everywhere

I called this diary post "Injustice", because of something unfair that happened with me today in the office.
As usually, there was a lot of translation to do. I finished off with my translation and did some additional. Anyway, I did all my things and after this we had an office meeting, where we were to discuss what we have achieved throughout this whole week. And I should say, that this week wasthe hardest one, we together with Nodira translated lots of legal documents, specifically comparative tables of European parliaments. The hardest thing in this translation was that it was prepared by non-English speaker, a Belgian epxert, and there were lots of grammar mistakes and this was giving me a hard time.
Anyway, our boss praised Nodira for her exceptional work and said that I also worked, but not as good as Nodira, well I didn't say nothing. But, I felt really angry, and then he went on that I always leave at 1800, but I tiold him that when there's nothing else to do, I prefer to go home, instead of staying here. Man, this thing just drives me crazy, working in the European project on establishing democracy in the country, we have no democracy in the project itself, plus we are told to stay late, even if we are not being paid for staying late. I mean, what the f***. How can Europeans establish democracy and protection of human rights in the whole country, when our own rights are being constantly violated, this is crazy and I think that all this crap about democracy is nothing but a way to earn some money with the help of these kinds of projects. Those smart ass dickheads in the EU just don't give a damn about democracy and human rights...
Well, were was I, oh yeah, my boss told me that I am not good at my work, but when we were alone I told him that he was not right, however this was useless. I went home at 1830 and did some work on my dad's website, but the webbuilder, which I am forced to use at this hosting really sucks and I had to redesign one damn page for ten times. Anyway, I finished working with his page and went to sleep...
